A Bandage is a First Aid cloth used for stopping bleeding or limb immobilization in The Long Dark.
Overview
Bandages are used to stop Blood Loss, preventing the player from rapidly losing Condition from bleeding out. They are often found in First Aid Kits and Medicine Shelves. They can also easily be created by harvesting a single Cloth and Crafting 2 of them anywhere in 15 minutes.
Crafting Bandages while afflicted Blood Loss can be a relatively dangerous process.
- Caution is required to prevent bleeding out while crafting them while at already low Condition. As such, it is advisable to keep a few bandages in one's inventory in case of emergency.
- Blood Loss also attracts predators by giving the player maximum Scent, and can quickly lead to death if the player is attacked while crafting Bandages.
