</infobox> A Sprained Wrist can be caused by a fall, being exhausted or encumbered while walking on uneven or steep terrain, or from an animal attack.

Risk

}}

Carrying too much weight beyond carrying capacity or becoming too tired to carry your heavy load will warn the player that they are at risk of acquiring a sprain. Walking off road onto uneven ground (icon shown in the photo) may have a chance of a Sprained Ankle or Wrist occurring. Consider either resting or lightening your load in order to eliminate the risk, or consume a Go! Energy Drink or Emergency Stim.

Affliction

In-game description
}}

If a player fails to heed a Sprain Risk or is attacked by hostile wildlife, they can develop a sprain. Acquiring a sprain will always give the Pain Affliction at the same time.

While at least 1 Sprained Wrist affects the player:

With 2 Sprained Wrists, all Weapons can no longer be used, but lighting tools such as Flares, Marine Flares, Storm Lanterns, Torches, and Flashlights can.

  • A Sprained Wrist is treated by using a Bandage or sleeping for 4 cumulative hours. It will not pass on its own.
  • The associating Pain Affliction can be treated independently with Painkillers or Rose Hip Tea; rest will contribute to resolving all sprains and Pain.
  • Rope Climbing is not possible with either a Sprained Wrist or Ankle.
  • It is possible to sprain both wrists at once, either in the same Struggle event or from continuing to traverse sloped surfaces while over encumbered.
