Maple Syrup is a packaged food item in The Long Dark.
Overview
Consuming Maple Syrup provides up to 850 calories of energy, and does not cause dehydration. They are rarely found in pantries and other containers, but more commonly in fixed spawns at named locations.
Maple Syrup are the rarest food item, with only 5-7 found in an entire world, roughly half the spawn chance of the next rarest food item: Military-Grade MRE. Maple Syrup decays relatively rapidly for an artificial item, resulting in potentially even fewer than 5-7 present if some become Ruined (0% Condition) inside of a container and are destroyed.
Maple Syrup can never cause Food Poisoning above 20% condition, and decays more slowly when outdoors.

Trivia
- Maple Syrup was first introduced for the limited time "Winter's Embrace" event (June 29th - July 31st, 2020), along with Ketchup Chips.
- During the event, eating 25 Ketchup Chips and 25 Maple Syrup, awarded the "Canadian Feast Badge".
- Maple Syrup is labeled as "Grade A" and has "Product of/Produit du Canada" on the back.
