Bear's Bend

A Bear likes to hang out in the area. This location can only be reached coming from the north.

Landslide and ledge path

The road is blocked by an enormous landslide just to the southeast of this location. There is no passage on ground level.

A series of ledges form a path that crosses the road above Bear's Bend on top of rocks that form a natural bridge. This rock bridge and ledge path is the only way to get from one side of the blockage to the other side, other than taking the long route all the way past Blackrock Prison.

The ledge path connects to ground level in three places:

To the southwest: near Creek Bed Cave.
To the northwest: near Forager's Remnant, with a Rope Climbing section.
To the east: past the unnamed trailer close to the road, about half-way between Bear's Bend and Grand Meadow.

The beginning of the ledge path is relatively easy to find from either direction. However, the ledges themselves can be confusing, especially around the spot where the three paths meet. When coming from the trailer in the east, following the path towards Creek Bed Cave requires a 180° turn that may be easy to miss, particularly in low visibility.

There is no shelter down at Bear's Bend, but the ledge path through the mountains above allows access to a small cave. Rabbits can be hunted in front of the cave, and a small number of various plants can be harvested in several spots along the ledge path, including Rose Hip and Cat Tail.
