The Wolfskin Hat is a type of headgear that can be Crafted in The Long Dark.

Overview

The Blueprint for crafting this hat must first be obtained by trading for the Wolfskin Hat Blueprint Card from the Trader.

Only 1 Wolfskin Hat can be worn at a time, specifically in the outer head slot.

It is the second warmest headgear item in the game, next to the Cougar Hide Wrap.

It cannot be crafted without the Blueprint first, whereas a Cougar will spawn after enough time passes (if enabled).
The trade off is that once the Blueprint is obtained however, it is far easier to slay a single Wolf (or find a Ravaged Wolf Carcass) for a pelt than a Cougar for its pelt.
- if Cougars are disabled (or if playing on Pilgrim) the Wolfskin Hat is the warmest Hat that can be worn.
