Overview

A Wolf Quarter is a section harvested from a Wolf or Timberwolf. A Poisoned Wolf will not allow a Wolf Quarter to be harvested, as they have no meat on their bodies.

You can only obtain wolf quarters by quartering a wolf carcass. To quarter an animal, you have to go into the harvest menu, then select the quartering action. For a wolf, this will always take 1 hour. You can only quarter a wolf if its less than 50% frozen.

After quartering, the carcass will despawn, leaving behind 2-3 quarters, as well as its Fresh Gut and Fresh Wolf Pelt. It will also leave behind the wolves legs and blood, but these cannot be picked up, and it will soon despawn. As quartering only takes 1 hour for wolves, and gives you all necessary parts, it makes transport and harvesting easier, especially if a blizzard is coming or if it will be night soon.

Unlike directly harvesting a fresh carcass' meat, you will still need to harvest a quarter for its meat. 50% of the quarters total weight will be turned into usable Wolf Meat (Raw). Any remaining raw meat left inside the bag will be lost if the Quarter's Condition reaches 0%, with bags spoiling within 1 day of harvesting.

Trivia

Timberwolf Quarter bags are slightly larger than regular Wolf Quarters.
