I know I'm a bit late, and I hope your 320 day survival lasts, but yes I climbed down to the red train cars without even knowing you can slip or run out of stamina. I stopped at the ledge to look around. I didn't slip at all but my conditions were almost %100 and it was on the hopeless rescue challenge so I'm not sure if it will on your difficulty.
