Quartering is an option for moving meat to where you are holed up, as it takes less time to quarter than to harvest everything off a corpse. You end up with the hide, guts, and bags of meat on the ground after completion. The bags can be hauled back and harvested inside for the animal's meat. Just a heads up, the bags of meat deteriorate faster than the harvested meat.
