Car Batteries are really heavy (10kg each), but can be reduced to 10% that weight in 30 minutes with a Hacksaw. Also, because of the Misfire chance of crafted ammo (below Skill 5), it's a really bad idea to waste the rare/finite Gunpowder on subpar ammo.

Also keep in mind that crafting ammo requires a spent shell casing of the type you want (Rifle or Revolver), so make sure to save these. Don't forget that you need the Bleak Inlet access code and an active Aurora to open the Cannery door, and an active Aurora to use the crafting within.
