CH is very resource rich, has decent weather, and several excellent bases, but is wolf heavy and while the ice flats make predator avoidance easy, they also are devoid of any resources (even sticks). CH is also a very large zone, being approximately 50% larger than Mystery Lake (and about on-par with Pleasant Valley). Thus, a main downfall of CH is it's greatest strength: the high visibility, but resource-devoid ice.

Fishing is another important aspect to consider. Guts are incredibly easy to get from Rabbits, and fishing hooks are easy to make and very lightweight.

Beachcombing is also important to consider, since it grants access to otherwise limited resources, like Cured Leather, and Maple Saplings in the late game.
