You don't get injuries for no reason. I guess you were trying to walk uphill or downhill on a steep terrain. That's what causes you to get sprained ankles or wrists. You have to take the easy way around, and sacrifice time, or go parkour mode and save a time, but risk an injury.

I do agree on the fact that sometimes, sprained ankles and wrists happen a bit too much. On my way to a bunker and back, It happened twice to me. Twice in the same day is a bit too much. I have like 15 painkillers so I'm okay, but if I didn't, I guess I'd be really mad right nao.
