I meant to add this to my post above; in fact, I found mine on the ground, tucked deep under a bed in a trailer/cabin (I forget where, sadly) rather than in any containers. I pays to make sure you're looking under everything in this game. Some of the best stuff can be found hidden under furniture, sometimes even barely visible, especially in poorly lit conditions.
