Mechanic is more complicated than "shoot it in the head and it dies". Its "shoot it and get a critical hit and it dies". Critical hits are more likely in the head, but also possible aiming for the backside. And critical hits are not guaranteed anywhere in large animals. So stating 1-2 hits to the head will kill is going to be incorrect at some point.
