24% Rule. No matter the 'state' 24% and below should be considered dangerous to eat, sans soda. (Voyageur & Stalker) Use it as a decoration, if you do that kind of thing. Personally, I spend the first two ingame months(for the very long games) gathering all the food I can find and best gear, leaving the rest to be gathered later, leaving water in the region I find it as moving it is a waste IMHO.
