Had the same thought the first time that happened to me. But I had a rifle and 25 rounds. Like I'm ever going to use 25 rounds, I'm on this ice to fish. So I snuck up on the bear corpse and shot it in the head. The previously thought dead bear, and now should be dead bear, got up, charged me, I don't have enough time to pull another shot, it continued to charge past me (?), and we both turn around, I'm like... thanks for waiting for the reload animation to finish? I'm here to fish. What am I going to do with this bear meat ocean? Apparently, I was outside the instant maul radius, but inside the charge radius. I was the non-victim of bear based rubberbanding?
