I love how the radio music woke me up in the middle of the night - really spooky, i did not even register the radio in the shelter as it was always useless. I missed however some kind of appropriate speach from my charachter - like "Well, someone at least is still alive in the world - thank god!". Even cooler would be some kind of news broadcast - I spent an hour RL listening to the radio hoping that the BBC worldservice or whatever was going to come on...
which reminds me: surely the best survival-mode gimic would be to get to the radio tower in pleasent valley, wait for an aurora, and then use it to call for help over the VHF radio? maybe then only to hear..."Gosh, there is someone alive that far north? well you're on your own until the spring, buddy!" :)
