New page

Hi. I'm a casual player that has loved this game since Alpha (prior to v1.0). I'm currently aiming to get some achievement completion under my belt for this game while I take a break from Frostpunk due to bugs making the achievements much more difficult for that game. I'm currently 31/56 achievements completed with 450+ hours in The Long Dark.

I mostly play Sandbox Survival mode and currently aiming for 500+ days survived. Despite the heavy hours in the game, it saddens me to admit that I am not that good at this game. The most I've had in a single run is 207 days survived on Voyageur, 25 days survived on Stalker, and 14 days survived on Interloper.

I have well over 14 years of experience Managing and Maintaining Wikis. I do like to occasionally add some more details, clean up pages, and update the patch notes sections from time-to-time.

With the achievement percentages displayed on Steam, I question how many people play the story mode in comparison to the survival mode for the number of players that actually own the game. For example, I recently got the "Lights in the Sky" achievement and it says only 16.9% of people have acquired it?! That's so strange to me because all it requires is completion of the normal, standard story mode main missions (in any difficulty). Then, I recently got "Cache Mastery" and only 1.6% of the player base has ever acquired that!!! So, at least 80%+ of the player base must strictly stick to Sandbox Survival mode.

My PC Specs:

* Steam
* Windows 10 64-bit
* Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX AM5 Motherboard
* AMD 7900X 12-Core CPU
* Nvidia 1660 Super 6GB GTX GPU
* 32GB of DDR5-6000 RAM @ CL30
* 1TB NVMe Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD
** Split into 2 Partitions - 100 GB for OS and Install Files, then 700 GB for Games with 10% of the drive capacity unallocated (makes the drive last longer and perform faster).
* 500 GB WD Blue SSD on Sata 3 (418 GB usable, 10% unallocated)
* 1 TB WD Blue HDD on Sata 3
* 300 Mbps Fiber Optic @ 13 ms Latency (Finally! After 16 years I got Fiber Optic!)
