It depends on what's more important in your situation: weight, temperature or blizzard protection.

I tend to wear gauntlets or rabbitskin mitts, as either give a total of 2.5 degrees more than wool mittens, and I similarly prefer the Cowichan sweater as an inner torso item.

For blizzards, the snow pants and deerskin pants are better than combat pants (both give better waterproofing and wind protection).
