The player will always start the game with one recycled can in the inventory, even on Interloper. Additional Recycled Cans are obtained by the player after consuming a [[Cooking#Canned|canned good]]. However, if the player smashes open a can, they will not receive a Recycled Can once the food is consumed. Additionally, Recycled Cans occasionally spawn in houses with kitchens or in various other locations.<br />

A Recycled Can will decrease the amount of time required for canned food to cook by '''50%''', compared to the time needed to cook indirectly near the [[Fire]]. This time can be decreased by an additional '''20%''' if the player uses a [[Cooking Pot]] instead of a Recycled Can.
