|map=Peak Cave Location.png}}'''Peak Cave''' is a location at the top of a cliff near [[Monolith Lake]] in [[Hushed River Valley]]. As its name suggests, getting to this cave requires a long climb up a steep hill on the eastern side of [[Monolith Lake]].
==Overview==
Peak Cave is a small cave hidden amongst brush, potentially with a corpse and a plastic container inside. A few [[Rose Hip]] bushes grow just outside the cave, and there are four oak trees nearby. There is a chance for a [[deer]] to spawn on the plateau just outside the cave, and the region is frequented by [[Ptarmigan]].

A quick walk to the north to a ledge overlooking [[Monolith Lake]] will lead to a possible [[Hidden Cache]] spawn point, which may also contain useful items. The cave is also a spawn point for a [[Mementos|Memento Cache]], which will contain one [[Cured Black Bear Hide]].

Because this location is entirely safe from hostile wildlife and located not too far from decent hunting areas near [[Monolith Lake]], it can make for a good [[Safe House]], although the long climb up a hill at the end of a day increases the risk of getting a sprain, especially if the player is exhausted/encumbered. This risk can be mitigated by using [[Crampons]].

*The altitude of Peak Cave has been estimated by [[User:Glflegolas|Glflegolas]] to be about 590 meters above sea level (relative to [[Bleak Inlet]]) using screenshots. This is higher than the altitude of [[Timberwolf Mountain]] (relative to sea level in [[Coastal Highway]]), which is 505 meters.
**If confirmed, this would make Peak Cave the second highest accessible point on [[Great Bear Island]], after the southern portal of the [[Cave (Mountain Town location)|Cave]] in [[Mountain Town]], which is 612 meters.
