The Affliction Risk for Insomnia can be mitigated by escaping Glimmer Fog when it arrives, either by finding an underground shelter or entering [[Transfer Pass]] (pursuing the latter will instantly remove any Insomnia Risk buildup).<br />

The game currently lacks any real countermeasures in the form of foods or gear to effectively combat or hide from Glimmer Fog, so the player will almost certainly contract Insomnia if they are not already near an underground shelter when the fog arrives. It can also be hard to tell the difference between a Glimmer Fog or Aurora event during the early hours of the day while indoors for some locations, due to the inability to simply glance outside at the weather.<br />
