== Overview ==
While the Affliction is active, the entire screen will occasionally distort similar to the [[Pain]] Affliction, but with a more intense distortion. The screen will zoom in and out slightly to simulate an intense headache until the affliction wears off. The player also cannot use [[Research Book|Research Books]] until the Affliction passes. Unlike the Pain Affliction, this visual effect can't be treated with [[Painkillers]] or [[Rose Hip Tea]].

Headaches have no long-term effects on the player, only serving as a simple visual distraction and a slight annoyance. If in a safe spot, the player can simply use the "Pass Time" option or [[Sleep]] to make the Affliction pass quickly.

== First Aid Headaches ==

Drinking a [[Go! Energy Drink]] or eating [[Caffeine Pills]] will produce a Headache. When either are consumed, the edges of the player's screen will distort and blur, producing a chromatic aberration effect.

* When the [[Energy Boost]] effect of a consumed Go! Energy Drink has expired, a Headache Affliction begins. As a side effect, all [[Stamina]] is instantly lost when a Headache begins.
* Caffeine Pills instantly give a 3 hour long Headache once consumed.
* A slight blue filter appears over the screen when a Headache begins after consuming First Aid items.

Certain Recipes will also produce a Headache. Partially consuming Recipes will not always produce a Headache however, but fully consuming the item will guarantee one. Unlike First Aid items, Recipes do not produce a blue tint on the screen when a Headache begins.
