Deer quarters can be obtained by going into the harvest menu after killing a deer. While in the harvest screen, switch to the right side of the screen putting you in the quartering screen. Unlike harvesting the meat directly, you cannot quarter a deer with your bare hands, even if the carcass is not frozen. You cannot quarter an animal if it is 50% frozen or more.<br /> <br /> Unlike the misleading term &quot;quarter&quot;, a deer carcass will have 4-5 quarters, and having five makes it technically a fifth, not a quarter.<br /> <br /> When a deer is quartered, you also get the [[Fresh Gut]] and [[Fresh Deer Hide]]. Quartering a deer will always take 1 in-game hour, making it more time efficient. However, you still need to harvest the quarters for usable [[Venison (Raw)]].
