==Overview==
A '''Bear Quarter''' is a section harvested from a ''[[bear]]''. You can obtain bear quarters by ''quartering'' a bear carcass. To quarter an animal, you have to go into the harvest menu, then select the quartering action. For a bear, this will always take 2 hours. You can only quarter a bear if its less than 50% frozen.

After quartering, the carcass will despawn, leaving behind 5-8 quarters, as well as its [[Fresh Gut]] and [[Fresh Black Bear Hide]]. It will also leave behind the bears legs and blood, but this cannot be picked up, and it will soon despawn. As quartering only takes 2 hours for bears, vs. the hours taken to harvest all the meat, guts, and hide by hand, and quartering still gives you all necessary parts, it makes transport and harvesting easier, especially if a blizzard is coming or if it will soon be night.

Unlike directly harvesting a fresh carcass' meat, you will still need to harvest a quarter for its meat. 50% of the quarters total weight will be turned into usable [[Bear Meat (Raw)]]. Any remaining raw meat left inside the bag will be lost if the Quarter's Condition reaches 0%, with bags spoiling within 1 day of harvesting.
