Storing the meat outside and on the ground (raw, preferably!) slows decay p/ signifigantly. But storing it in a outside container it'll decay (and dissapear) like normal. But even 0% meat left outside on the ground can be cooked back to 50% and eaten. According to my runs wolves/bears won't go for it unless you dropped it via decoy.
