You get 1 skill point for cooking any food item (melting and boiling [[Water (potable)|water]] do not count, but making any kind of tea or [[Cup of coffee|coffee]] does).

Warming up food you have already cooked (such as [[Pork and beans]] or [[Tomato soup]]) does not give you any extra skill points.
