But this is to represent a spear capable of taking on the "Old Bear" a supposedly mythical beast that not even rifle shots or all the arrows poking out of his back have phased. Something like a regular maple sapling can't possibly handle that. No, I think a regular maple sapling is all you get out of the return because that's the closest thing the devs have to what they imagine it's made out of. A measly 1 or even 2 kg spear would, theoretically, snap when you use it against something as massive as the old bear is supposed to be. I'm pretty sure that you will 'find' the spear in the sandbox mode just like you find the rifle and ammunition. I mean, consider you recover a fir wood piece from an axe handle, but you recover no wood at all from a rifle if you scrap it.You can't scrap bows for the two saplings they use, so, more than likely, again, it's probably going to be 3 or even 4 saplings to craft it, if they go that route, and probably 5 or 6 pieces of metal for the head as befitting something as 'legendary' as the spear is supposed to be.
