It seems you can only leave the hideout at night as well. I wasn't able to cross the narrow part of the chamber while the power was on (maybe there's a timing deal, but I couldn't figure it out). I slept until daylight, when the aurora stopped.

There is a very obvious circuit breaker on the left side of the main room (coming from the ladder). It seems to do nothing while the power is off. I was trapped in there, conceivably until the next aurora.

What are the actual condition for successfully hurting the bear with a rifle shot? It seems like once in 5 or so shots straight to the face, it goes away, but it usually ignores the shot and keeps coming towards the player.
